Fire Recruit Testing Process
Here are some tips to prepare for the testing process:
- Complete online application, including the required documentation uploads
- Required by date of hire, a candidate must pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)
- Complete/Pass the testing process, which will include direct links when selected to move forward
Candidate Requirements (if Applicable)
- Conditional Job Offer
- Drug testing/Urinalysis
- Background Check
- Occupational Health NFPA 1582 Physical

Successful Completion Includes
- City of Glendale new employee orientation
- Occupational medical physical
- Firefighter Recruit: 14 week regional academy (560 hours at GRPSTC)
- Incumbent ALS Firefighter: 6 week bridge academy(PDF, 320KB) (240 hours at GRPSTC)
- 1-year probationary period after date of hire
