Astronomy Night: the Moon

The West Valley Astronomy Club brings the cosmos to life with an engaging presentation featuring NASA simulations and lunar facts. Explore eclipses, Moon mysteries, and more- questions welcome! Chalk the Walk

22 Jan 2026 Collaborate with other tween artists for an outdoor art project with sidewalk chalk. Tweens, ages 9-11, will claim a concrete square and make their own individual mini chalk murals to welcome people into the Main Library. Clothes that can get dirty are highly recommended. Caregivers are expected to accompany children throughout the duration of this program.

Writer in Residence Workshop: Originality in Storytelling

22 Jan 2026 Although plots and themes of published books may seem the same, your own story to tell is unique. Participants will be presented with photographs, and each will write vignettes about the scenes, with the opportunity to read aloud their personal take on the visuals. Open to writers of all genres and skill levels. Presented by Writer-in-Residence Deborah Ledford.
