Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods
Saturday, October 18, 2025

G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) is an annual statewide day of celebration for the success of crime prevention through community involvement. By hosting a gathering in your neighborhood, you can start building positive relationships, share information, promote safety, and bring back a sense of community. This is a time to turn on your porch lights, go out into your neighborhood and get to know your neighbors.
Who can participate in G.A.I.N.?
Most of the parties are held by established Neighborhood Watch groups, but anyone and everyone can participate through your own registered neighborhood, HOA, or community event.
Apartments, mobile home communities, businesses, and residential areas should all take an active role in getting to know each other and doing their part in preventing crime.
Steps to Participating in G.A.I.N.
Get your neighbors/groups and start planning
Glendale G.A.I.N. Night will take place on Saturday, October 18th, 2025. All community events that want to be a part should be planned to last at least 2 hours and fall somewhere between 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. The specific details of your event (theme/food/entertainment etc.) are up to you.
If you need to order barricades for your block party, please do so way ahead of time by contacting the City of Glendale Transportation Services Department at (623) 930-2940.
Register your neighborhood event at the mandatory G.A.I.N. Registration/Kick-Off on October 4th, 2025
Glendale G.A.I.N. Registration/Kick-Off will be at Glendale Police Department (MAIN Downtown Station) 6835 N 57th Dr. Glendale, AZ 85301 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
At least 1 person representing your community event must attend the G.A.I.N. Registration/Kick-Off if you wish to have the opportunity to have some representation from the City of Glendale stop by your party.
Organize and put your plans into action early
- Don’t plan the event by yourself; This is a community event, so ask others for help
- Assess the needs of your neighborhood and plan an event that appeals to the majority
- Create a flyer w/all the details for your event & share with neighboring streets
Host your Glendale G.A.I.N. Night Event
Time to hold your event…be sure to stick to the times that you registered it for so that City representatives know someone will be there. Remember…they will be attending several that night and resources are limited.
- Give yourself plenty of time to set up
- Provide a sign-in sheet and share any safety information you might have
- Have Fun!
G.A.I.N. Registration/Kick-Off
This will not be a large, open to the public, event as it was in the past few years. The purpose of this day will be to get the planned neighborhood parties/events registered with all the details, so that Police and other City Departments/Officials/Resources are aware and can make every effort to stop by and interact with each group. However, due to limited resources we cannot guarantee a visit, but we will do our best.
At least one person representing your party must attend the G.A.I.N. Registration/Kick-Off on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Glendale Police Department (MAIN Station) 6835 N 57th Dr. Glendale, AZ 85301. If you are unable to have attendance there but still want information, contact the Glendale Police Department Community Action Team at (623) 930-3380.
At the G.A.I.N. Registration/Kick-Off you will register your party for G.A.I.N. Night with Glendale Police Department Community Action Team members. Planning packets with information on how to host a successful event will be given to you. There will be safety/security resources, information, and giveaways available for you to take back and share with the community.
The deadline to register will be that day, October 4th, 2025.
G.A.I.N. NIGHT
G.A.I.N. Night will be held on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, between 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Your party should be at least 2 hours in length and fall within this time frame.
