Glendale Offices To Be Closed, But Many Services Available On Labor Day
The city of Glendale offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of the Labor Day holiday, but many services and amenities will still be operating for residents’ convenience.
All residential garbage, recycling and bulk trash collection will be provided at regularly scheduled collection times on Sept. 7. However, the Glendale Municipal Landfill will be closed on Labor Day. To learn more, visit Trash and Recycling | City of Glendale, AZ or call 623-930-2660.
There will still be many options for public transportation in Glendale on Sept. 7. Valley Metro buses and GUS Bus route 1 will run on a Sunday service schedule. GUS Bus routes 2 and 3 will not be in service on Labor Day. Express and RAPID bus routes will not be available on Sept. 7. MicroTransit (Dial-A-Ride) services will be provided by reservation only on Labor Day, and reservations must be made by noon on Sept. 4. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) public transportation will continue its usual schedule on Sept. 7. To plan your route, visit Valley Metro or call 602-253-5000.
All the Glendale Public Library branches will be closed on Labor Day.
The Glendale and Rose Lane community centers, as well as O’Neil Recreation Center, Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center and Glendale Adult Center will be closed on Sept. 7 in observance of the holiday. They also are closed on Sept. 6 as they are always closed on Sundays. Glendale’s REC on Wheels will not make any visits on Labor Day.
Glendale Regional Airport’s administrative office will be closed on Labor Day. However, the terminal will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 7, the usual hours for holidays. The airport itself is always open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Glendale Convention & Visitors Bureau will be closed on Sept. 7.
