Ready to learn something new? The Glendale Public Library invites the community to Try Everything! at the How-To Festival on Saturday, March 21, 2026, 10 AM-3 PM at the Main Library.

This exciting, hands-on event marks the official launch of the Library’s brand-new Library of Things collection — made possible through generous grant funding from the Arizona State Library and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Soon, library cardholders will be able to check out more than books — including power tools, embroidery machines, drawing tablets, musical instruments, kitchen equipment, and more.

The How-To Festival transforms the library into a buzzing hub of creativity and skill-sharing. Throughout the day, local experts and talented hobbyists will lead engaging 15- to 60-minute demonstrations and interactive workshops. Visitors can discover how to decorate cakes, record a podcast, make jewelry, perform basic car maintenance, create homemade wine, and much more. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned DIYer, there’s something to spark your curiosity.

Best of all, the learning doesn’t stop when the festival ends. Inspired attendees can continue building their skills by borrowing tools and equipment from the new Library of Things collection.

Have a skill to share? The Library is currently seeking presenters to help make the festival an unforgettable community experience. Volunteer presenters are welcome, and compensation is available at established rates. The application deadline has been extended to March 7, with priority consideration for submissions received by March 1. Apply at: https://gplaz.org/htfpresenters

Come ready to explore, experiment, and maybe even surprise yourself. At the Try Everything! How-To Festival, you just might discover your next favorite hobby.
