Located in the heart of downtown Glendale, the Glendale Community Center is a vibrant neighborhood hub offering a variety of free community programs and activities for youth, teens, adults, and seniors.

Our programs are designed to encourage learning, recreation, fitness, creativity, and community connection. Youth Programs

Glendale Community Center Afterschool Program

August 2026–May 2027

The Glendale Community Center offers a free, drop-in afterschool recreation program for youth in kindergarten through 8th grade during the 2026–2027 school year.

Participants can enjoy a variety of activities in a safe, welcoming environment, including:

  • Homework assistance
  • Arts and crafts
  • Sports and recreational activities
  • STEM activities
  • Daily scheduled activities
  • And more!

Meals are provided daily by St. Mary’s Food Bank.


LEGO Club

Ages 7–12

LEGO Club gives young builders the opportunity to explore creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork through fun, hands-on building challenges.

Fun-Size Fairy Tales

Ages 3–8

Step into a magical world of princesses, princes, and fairy tales! Children will enjoy imaginative play, themed photo opportunities, enchanting stories, age-appropriate games, royal-themed activities, crafts, and delicious snacks and treats.

Halloween Potion Making

Saturday, October 3, 2026

Get creative and celebrate Halloween with a magical potion-making experience! Participants will design their own potion, create a label, choose a fun-shaped bottle, and fill it with themed ingredients to create a festive sensory bottle. Each potion will be finished with an enchanting wax-sealed cork.

An adult must accompany each child for the entire activity.

Teen Programs

GCC Teens

The GCC Teens program is designed around the needs and interests of teens who visit the center. Teens can participate in recreational activities, clubs, guest speakers, special events, and other opportunities that encourage social connection, personal growth, and academic success while having fun.

G.O.L.D. Program

Ages 15–17

The G.O.L.D. Program (Glendale’s Onsite Leadership Development Program) provides teens with hands-on volunteer and work-experience opportunities within our youth programs.

G.O.L.D. participants work alongside experienced recreation staff while developing leadership, communication, teamwork, and job skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Nerf Foam Frenzy

Ages 9–14

Get ready for an action-packed afternoon of foam-blasting fun! Participants will compete in a variety of Nerf games designed to test speed, strategy, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

 

Game modes include:

  • Team Deathmatch – Work together and dominate the battlefield.
  • Capture the Flag – Outsmart your opponents and capture the flag.
  • Last Person Standing – Every player for themselves!

Participants may bring their own Nerf blaster. Nerf blasters will also be available for those who need one.

Adult & Senior Programs

Seniors in the City

Glendale Community Center has partnered with the YWCA to provide fun, social, and recreational opportunities for older adults.

 

Join us Monday through Friday for coffee, Lotería, exercise, karaoke, guest speakers, games, activities, and more. Participants can also enjoy lunch served at noon while connecting with friends and neighbors.

Wreath-Making Series: Craft Your Seasons

Ages 16+

Get creative throughout the year with our Wreath-Making Series! Each session features a unique seasonal or holiday-inspired wreath, from fall and Halloween to Christmas, spring, summer, and the Fourth of July.

No experience is necessary. All materials and guidance are provided. Bring your creativity and take home a beautiful handmade wreath for your home or décor.

O’Neil Afterschool Program
The O'Neil Recreation Center offers a free, accredited drop-in Afterschool Program for youth ages 6-14 (grades 1-8) that provides supervised recreational activities, crafts, games, sports, clubs, homework help, and special events. This is a non-licensed program. We work in partnership with the Glendale Elementary School District and follow their school release schedule. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday program hours are 3:15pm until 6:00pm. On Wednesdays, we will be open from 12:15pm until 6:00pm.

G.O.L.D. Teen Volunteer Program

Ages 15-17

The G.O.L.D. Teen Volunteer Program (Glendale’s Onsite Leadership Development program) offers students work experience, learning and receiving supervision from experienced leaders in the recreation field. This is currently a FREE Membership to the Rose Lane Community Center; this membership allows you to come into the center and participate in our classes and programs. Rose Lane After School Program 

The Rose Lane Community Center offers a free, accredited drop-in Afterschool Program for youth ages 6–14 (grades k–8) that provides supervised recreational activities, crafts, games, sports, clubs, homework help, and special events. This is a non-licensed program and will run from August 2026 through May 2027, Monday through Friday. Daily meals from St. Mary’s Food Bank will be provided to participants and any other youth in the community. We will be working in partnership with the Glendale Elementary School District, so Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday our program will be open from 2:30pm until 6pm. On Wednesdays, we will be open from11:30pm-6pm.

G.O.L.D Program 

The G.O.L.D. Program - Glendale's Onsite Leadership Program is about giving an opportunity to young students ages 15 -17. Creating a work experience during our youth programs G.O.L.D. Members will learn and be supervised by quality leaders in the Recreation field, while learning life/work skills, we will provide fun, age- appropriate atmosphere in a variety of spaces within our facility. Teen Program   

Rose Lane Community Center will be offering a Free, Drop-In Teen Program for youth ages 15-17. The Teen Drop-In Center is a prevention program for youth ages 15-17 that creates a safe, supervised haven for recreation and learning during the critical after-school and early evening hours. The Teen Drop-In Center provides leisure activity, academic enrichment, cultural arts, and technology. We will offer the program Monday- Friday from 6:00pm-8:00pm Rose Lane Community Center will receive daily meals from St. Mary's Food Bank that will be provided to participants and any other youth in the community. Saturdays at Rose Lane 

The Rose Lane Community Center currently offers a free, drop-in Saturday program from 8:00am-3:00pm. We provide programming for all ages, with specific time slots for different groups: 

  • Seniors and Adults: 8:00am-12:00pm 
  • Youth (ages 6 to 14): 12:00pm-2:00pm 
  • Teens (15-17): 1:00pm-3:00pm 

Seniors and adults can enjoy a variety of activities such as fitness classes, arts and crafts, book clubs, gardening workshops, and social events. 

Youth will be able to participate in drop-in recreational activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and more. At this time, we will not be offering lunch, so please provide children with either a snack or lunch. 

Teens will have access to a dedicated hangout area where they can socialize, play games, watch movies, and participate in special events designed just for them.
