Holiday Hours: Veterans Day

The city of Glendale offices will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of the Veterans Day holiday, but several services will still be available to residents and visitors. City offices will reopen on Nov. 12.

All residential garbage, recycling and bulk trash collection services will run on a normal schedule on Veterans Day. However, the Glendale Municipal Landfill will be closed on Nov. 11, in observance of the holiday. Visit Trash and Recycling | City of Glendale, AZ or call 623-930-2660 for more information.

Residents and visitors who need public transportation on Veterans Day will find many options but some limitations. GUS Bus 1 will run on a regular schedule on Nov. 11, but GUS Bus routes 2 and 3 will not be in operation on Veterans Day. Those who want to use a Glendale MicroTransit (Dial-A-Ride) service for Nov. 11 must make the reservation for it by noon on Nov. 10. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) service will not be impacted by the holiday. Visit Valley Metro to plan your next trip or contact Customer Service at 602-253-5000.

Glendale Public Libraries will be closed on Veterans Day and will reopen at 10 a.m. on Nov. 12.

The city’s Rose Lane Community Center, O’Neil Recreation Center, Glendale Recreation Center, Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center, as well as the Glendale Adult Center will be closed on Veterans Day. Glendale’s REC on Wheels program also will not be operating on Nov. 11. The Glendale Municipal Airport will remain open on Veterans Day, but the airport administrative office will be closed. For the convenience of residents and visitors, the terminal will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 11. The airport itself is always open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

And the Glendale Convention & Visitors Bureau be closed on Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.
