SOCCER CLINIC (1 night clinic on March 25)

Glendale Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Phoenix Rising FC to offer young recreational players an exciting opportunity to develop fundamental soccer skills in a fun and rewarding environment. This clinic will be held at Heroes Regional Park ensuring a top-notch experience for all participants.

Participants are grouped by age and skill level, receiving guidance from experienced coaching staff. The program includes a variety of soccer activities designed to enhance individual skills and promote positive character traits. Soccer clinic concludes with engaging game play experiences, ensuring that players not only improve but also enjoy their time on the field.

SOCCER LEAGUE (8-week season starts the week of March 30th)

Score big with our youth soccer program! Participants will learn soccer fundamentals, sportsmanship and have FUN in an inclusive environment.

 Players will learn the basic skills and rules to play soccer. Games will be held on Thursday evenings. Practices will be on Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the volunteer coach’s preference. Tentative game times are between 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Heroes Regional Park. Players must sign up for the division of play in which they are eligible.

Registration includes a team t-shirt. It’s a 8-week season; weeks 1 and 2 are practice weeks and weeks 3-8 are game weeks. Weeks 1 and 2 will have 1-2 practices per week as there are no games in weeks 1 and 2. Weeks 3-8 will have games on Thursdays and a practice day on Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the coach’s preference. Participants will be assigned to a team randomly or by special team request (special team request is not guaranteed). Questions? Youth Soccer League – 6U

The coed division is designed as a fun and engaging introduction to the game of soccer for young players. Focus is on creating a positive learning environment where children can develop basic skills and love for the game.

The coed division is tailored to further develop young players’ skills while keeping the focus on fun and learning the game of soccer. This division serves as an essential step in introducing the fundamentals of soccer.

Transition in to more competitive coed play in soccer. This division introduces key elements such as goalkeeping and team strategy while maintaining a focus on skill development and sportsmanship.

Youth Soccer League – 12U

This coed division represents an important step in the development of young soccer athletes. It focuses on enhancing skills, understanding of the game and teamwork through more structured play.

Throughout the year, our youth sports leagues are run by amazing volunteer coaches. Please fill out the YOUTH SPORTS COACH ONLINE APPLICATION for the upcoming Youth Soccer season if you are interested in volunteering.

 

BE A VOLUNTEER COACH. Indicate your desire to coach when signing up your child.  Those who do not have children in the league are also welcome to apply!

1. Be at least 18 years old.

2. Complete the coach online application.

3. Be fingerprinted and have an FBI background check.

4. Adhere to the City of Glendale’s coach’s Code of Conduct and department philosophy, “The outcome of the child is more important than the outcome of the game.”
