Public Safety Personnel Retirement Boards

Our Role

Responsible for making the provisions of the Public Safety Retirement System effective including membership, benefits eligibility and administration of claims. There are two boards: Fire and Police.

Membership

The Public Safety Personnel Retirement Boards consist of five members for each board including, the Mayor or designee, City Manager, one citizen and two members elected by Fire or Police Department employees. The employee elected and Council appointed member serve a four-year term.

Meeting Frequency

Typically meets the fourth Wednesday of the month January to October and the third Wednesday November and December at 9:30 a.m. Each meeting can last up to two hours.
