Grow Happiness Gardening Event

Heart for the City Community Garden, 69th Ave and Keim Dr. (2 blocks north of Bethany Home Rd.)
8am-11am
Help prepare the Heart for the City Community Garden get ready for the fall planting season. The purpose of the garden is to provide information on gardening and nutrition for the community. Volunteer tasks include spreading woodchips around the fruit trees, planting seeds and transplanting, pulling grass from garden areas, and other general garden tasks. Please wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. To volunteer, please complete the form.
Rock with Glendale, Neighborhood Beautification Project

Community Engagement is currently recruiting volunteers to help with a neighborhood beautification project. Volunteer tasks may include painting of address numbers on curbs, moving rock into bare yards, weeding and general landscaping. The project will be located within the 85301 zip code. The exact location of the project is to be determined. Please wear clothing that can get dirty, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen and a hat. Glendale Elementary School District Food Distributions
Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Tuesdays (8am-10:30am), Wednesdays (7am-9am)
Every month, Glendale Elementary School District holds food distributions where they hand out 350+ food boxes to the community. The need for food boxes has increased steadily along with the need for volunteer support to get food to families effectively. There are two opportunities to help with each distribution; one day would be the packing of the food boxes and the following day would be handing the boxes out to the community. Below are the dates for the food distributions. 10-15 volunteers are needed for each volunteer opportunity. To register, please complete the Glendale Elementary School District Food Distribution Volunteer Form.
