Dog Parks

Off-leash recreation dog parks allow dogs to romp, run and have fun without being on a leash. Dog parks create a healthier lifestyle for our furry friends and provide a spot for dog owners to socialize.
Foothills Park Dog Park
Location: 57th Avenue & Union Hills Drive
Located northeast of the softball complex, with access from the Foothills Library parking lot, this dog park features two separate sections that rotate monthly. Signs at the park indicate which side is currently open.
Each side offers dedicated spaces for large and small dogs with grass, shade, water, and benches. The east side also includes an agility course.
Maintenance Day: Closed on Wednesdays
Sahuaro Ranch Park Dog Park
Location: 63rd Avenue & Mountain View Road
Situated just north of the west parking lot and south of the softball complex, this park includes a small-dog area, water fountains, waste stations, and agility equipment—perfect for an active doggie play day.
Maintenance Day: Closed on Tuesdays
Northern Horizon Park Dog Park
Location: 63rd Avenue & Northern Avenue
This fenced-in facility offers separate areas for large and small dogs, along with water fountains, shade trees, benches, and waste stations—plenty of room for dogs to roam and socialize.
Maintenance Day: Closed on Mondays
Glendale Heroes Park Dog Park
Location: 83rd Avenue & Bethany Home Road
Positioned east of the picnic ramadas and south of the archery range, this park features two separate sections for large and small dogs, rotated monthly. Signs indicate which side is currently open.
Each section includes grass, shade, water, and benches for a comfortable visit.
Maintenance Day: Closed on Thursdays
Dog Park Rules
- Enter at your own risk.
- Children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Keep small children and infants under strict supervision.
- You are required by law to pick up your pet waste and to properly dispose of it. – City Code 27-48A.
- Aggressive dogs are not allowed. Remove dogs at the first sign of aggression. Owners are liable for any injuries or damage.
- All dogs must be licensed and vaccinated and must wear their identification and permit tags.
- Dog owner must be in attendance with your dog at all times, and carry a visible leash.
- Limit 3 dogs per visit. Dog owners must be able to maintain control of their dogs.
- Leash dogs while entering and exiting the dog park.
- Any damage done to the park (such as digging) must be repaired immediately.
- Female dogs in heat are not allowed in the dog park.
- Dog treats and food are not allowed in the park.
- All dog owners who fail to comply with the above rules may be asked to leave, or be ticketed.
- Dog owners must comply with all city park regulations. – City Code 27-42
