Welcome to the City of Glendale's Transit Service website. Transit provides a wide range of convenient, low-cost transportation alternatives for Glendale citizens and visitors, including fixed-route bus service, Glendale Dial-A-Ride, Glendale Urban Shuttle (GUS) bus service, ADA service and a taxi-voucher program.

Park-And-Ride

99th Avenue & Glendale Avenue Park-and-Ride

Park-and-ride facility located on the northeast corner of 99th Avenue and Glendale Avenue that includes bus bays loading platforms, 345 covered parking spaces, lighted canopies, site lighting, bike lockers, van-pool parking, security cameras, and a security building.

Valley Metro bus routes Glendale Avenue (Rte. 70) and West Glendale Express (Rte. 573) buses serve this park-and-ride. Please visit the Valley Metro website for details on bus arrival/departure times for these routes.

59th Avenue and Myrtle Avenue Park-and Ride

A small 109 space park-and-ride lot located on the southwest and northeast corners of 59th Avenue and Myrtle Avenue near downtown Glendale. The Valley Metro Grand Avenue Limited (GAL) bus boards at the southwest corner lot and Valley Metro Rte. 59 – 59th Avenue serves both corners of this park and ride lot. Amenities include uncovered parking spaces and a lighted lot on both corners along with access to passenger shelters along 59th Avenue.

Foothills Recreation and Aquatic Center Park-and-Ride

A small 100 space park-and-ride lot located on the northeast corner of 57th Avenue and Union Hills Drive at the City of Glendale Foothills Recreation and Aquatic Center. Amenities include uncovered parking spaces and a lighted lot.

Valley Metro Express bus routes 573 (West Glendale Express) and 575 (North Glendale Express) serve this park-and-ride lot. In addition, passenger can board Valley Metro bus route 186 (Union Hills). Boardings occur at the bus stop located directly on Union Hills Drive. Please visit the Valley Metro website for details on bus arrival/departure times for these routes.

Passengers using this park-and-ride lot are asked to park in the section of the city parking lot directly to the west of the driveway entrance closest to 57th Avenue.

Arrowhead Transit Center

The Arrowhead Transit Center is located on the north side of Arrowhead Towne Center near the AMC Theatres and Arrowhead Towne Center Food Court. This facility provides amenities such as electrical outlets for charging personal electronic devices, covered passenger waiting area, a map kiosk, site lighting, bus pullouts, and internet access to the free mall wi-fi service.

Several Valley Metro bus routes serve this transit center including Valley Metro bus routes 170 (Bell Road), 186 (Union Hills), 83 (83rd Avenue). Please visit the Valley Metro website for details on bus arrival/departure times for these routes.

Valley Metro Express bus routes 573 (West Glendale Express) and 575 (North Glendale Express) can be boarded on the south side of the mall near the former Forever 21 store site. Express bus passengers may not board the bus at the Arrowhead Transit Center site on the north side of the mall.

GUS the Bus - Glendale Urban Shuttle

Glendale Urban Shuttle (GUS)

The free Glendale Urban Shuttle (GUS) provides a great way to bring local destinations closer with three convenient circulator routes.

All GUS routes are wheelchair accessible and include bicycle racks. See information below for the maps and destinations that each GUS bus serves.

There is no fare to ride any GUS bus.

GUS 1 operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

DETOUR: Beginning August 25th, the Gus 1 route will no longer service City Hall or the Downtown Library due to construction. The stops have been temporarily moved to Glenn Drive, on the north side of the street between 58th Ave and 57th Drive.

Taxi Voucher

Taxi Voucher Program

The City of Glendale is pleased to provide a Taxi-Voucher Program for persons with special transportation needs. The program is designed to assist individuals making repetitive trips for medical treatments and therapies.

Services for this program are provided by L&S Transportation, LLC. For more information or to sign up for the program, contact L&S Transportation, LLC at 833-342-5977 or the City of Glendale Transit Services at 623-930-2940.

Eligibility

Glendale residents who receive qualifying physician ordered repetitive medical treatments and therapies such as dialysis, cancer treatments, and therapy following a stroke.

Fare

The City of Glendale pays 75% of one-way ride, up to $15 per trip and does not cover gratuity. Resident pays 25% of the fare.

Participant's portion of the fare can be paid by credit card in advance when making the reservation or paid as cash at time of pick-up.

Reservations

Once enrolled in the Taxi Voucher Program, Participants may call L&S Transportation, LLC at 833-342-5977 to arrange their transportation needs for repetitive medical appointments.

Vouchers are pre-addressed to two locations. The first is your home and the second is the medical treatment center within Glendale city limits.

Provide identification to the driver, who will present participant with a voucher to be signed.
