Located in the heart of downtown Glendale at 5401 W. Ocotillo Drive, the Glendale Community Center is a small, vibrant neighborhood hub offering variety of free community programs. The center caters to all age groups, including youth, teens, adults, and seniors. Programs include educational, recreational, and fitness activities, aiming to enhance community engagement and well-being.

Youth Programs:

GCC After School Program

August 2025-May 2026

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 3 PM - 7 PM

Wednesday: 12:30 PM - 7 PM

The Glendale Community Center is thrilled to offer a Free, Drop-In afterschool recreation program for kindergarten through 8th grade youth for the 2024-2025 school year. This program will run from August 2024 through May 2025, Monday through Friday. Activities include daily scheduled events, crafts, homework assistance, sports, STEM activities, and more.

Landmark Elementary Bus Route #6 drops off directly at the center

Teen Programs

GCC Teens 
GCC Teens program is uniquely developed based on the needs and interests of the teens who come to the center. Recreational activities, guest speakers, and clubs are created to benefit the teens in the community and help them grow socially and academically, while also focusing on fun. GCC Teens Program is Monday-Friday 4:00 pm-8:00 pm, Saturdays 8:00 am-3:00 pm

Teen Pizza & Paint Nights: (Ages 12-17)
What could be more fun... and yummy? Our teen pizza and paint nights lets you unleash your artistic side with everything you need to create a masterpiece on canvas. Bring your friends; no skill required. Our recreation staff will guide you step by step.

G.O.L.D Program
The G.O.L.D. Program (Glendale’s Onsite Leadership Development Program) is designed for youth ages 15-17, creating hands-on work experience opportunities within our youth programs. G.O.L.D. members learn from experienced recreation leaders while developing life and job skills in a fun, age-appropriate environment. Adult & Senior Programs

Seniors in the City
Glendale Community Center has partnered with the YWCA! Seniors are invited to the community center Monday-Friday 8:00 am-1:00 pm for coffee, Lotería, exercise, karaoke, guest speakers, and much more! Join us for lunch served at noon and appreciate good conversations, activities, and events!

O'Neil Recreation Center

O'Neil Recreation Center offers a variety of free community programs including Stay & Play hours for young families, virtual fitness classes, board & card games for adults/seniors, afterschool and teen programs, family weekend activities, and more!

Summer Season Programs

 

Summer Youth Program

M-F 7am-6pm

Ages 6-14

In the O'Neil Drop-In Summer Program, kids participate in fun, age-appropriate activities such as games, sports, arts & crafts, special events, and more! All activities are supervised by trained, on-site staff. This is a non-licensed, drop-in program and participants may come and go at their own will. Breakfast snacks (8am-10am) and lunch meals (12pm) will be provided by the St. Mary's food bank daily for all participants.

This is a free drop-in program with registration being required for each multi-week session you plan on using the program.

Session 1 runs from June 1st until June 26th.

Session 2 runs from June 29th until July 31st.

Registration is currently full, but we encourage those interested to register for the waitlists. The waitlists are addressed in registration order for each session, so it is recommended to sign up for both.

Regular Programming returning in August

O’Neil Afterschool Program
The O'Neil Recreation Center offers a free, accredited drop-in Afterschool Program for youth ages 6-14 (grades 1-8) that provides supervised recreational activities, crafts, games, sports, clubs, homework help, and special events. This is a non-licensed program. We work in partnership with the Glendale Elementary School District and follow their school release schedule. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday program hours are 3:15pm until 6:00pm. On Wednesdays, we will be open from 12:15pm until 6:00pm.

Registration opens Monday, July 6th at 8:00am for Glendale residents and the 13th for non-residents.

G.O.L.D. Teen Volunteer Program

Ages 15-17

The G.O.L.D. Teen Volunteer Program (Glendale’s Onsite Leadership Development program) offers students work experience, learning and receiving supervision from experienced leaders in the recreation field. Volunteers can develop life skills in a fun, age-appropriate atmosphere within our facilities. To learn more and apply, contact your local community center.

 

Stay & Play (Ages 2-5 w/ adult)
MON – SAT 8am-2pm (Wednesdays 8am-12pm)

We welcome young families to use our facility as a safe and enjoyable space for children to play. We provide toddler-friendly toys, crafts, and activities. Adult supervision is required.

 

English Conversation Classes (18+)
MON – WED options available.
Learn and expand on your speaking skills in this English language class. Class focus will be on listening and conversational skills.

Welcome to Rose Lane Community Center!
We proudly offer a variety of programs for individuals of all ages, from toddlers to adults. Our mission is to provide a fun, free, and safe environment where community members can learn, grow, and connect.

In addition to our regular programming, we also host exciting monthly events designed to bring our community together. Rose Lane Membership

We currently offer a FREE membership to the Rose Lane Community Center. This membership allows you to enter the center and participate in our classes and programs. Rose Lane Accredited After-School Program

Rose Lane Community Center will be offering a FREE, accredited drop-in after-school program for youth in K–8th grade. This registration is for the 2025–2026 school year. Teen Program

Rose Lane Community Center will be offering a free, drop-in teen program for youth ages 15–17. This is a prevention program that provides a safe, supervised space for recreation and learning during the early evening hours. The Teen Drop-In Center includes leisure activities, academic enrichment, cultural arts, and technology.

  • Program Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Meals: Daily meals will be provided by St. Mary’s Food Bank for all participants and any other youth in the community.
